That was just where we were with Covid at the time. The good news is, he'll get another chance. Jesse — along with Cody, and probably Karla — is an absolute shoo-in to be brought back for another season, whenever they start doing those again. He not only played a great game, but he did it while providing entertaining commentary and insight along the way.
